Big changes in battlegrounds

Postby cixelsyd » Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:07 pm

This just in from the patch notes:

# Battlegrounds

* Battleground experience has arrived!
o Players will now be awarded experience for completing objectives and actions that yield honor in Battlegrounds (honorable kills not included).
o Players who do not wish to gain experience through PvP can visit Behsten in Stormwind or Slahtz in Orgrimmar - both located near the Battlemasters in either city - and turn off all experience accumulation for the cost of 10 gold.
o Disabling experience gains will prevent a player from gaining experience through any means available in the game.
o Players with experience gains turned off who compete in Battlegrounds will face off only against other players with experience gains turned off.
o Behsten and Slahtz can reinstate experience gains for players, for a 10 gold fee of course. Any experience that would've been accumulated if experience gains were not turned off cannot be recovered.

Sounds interesting. They are making twinking easier it looks like. but also making leveling and doing some pvp while doing so a bit more interesting

This great news for twinks. Not only will we be able to keep up with any changes/patches to twink gear or professions, we won't be surrounded by scrubs in BG's as we will only be playing against other twinks (or anyone else who feels like turning their XP off).

They're putting WSG on a 20 min. timer though, and while it can avoid the more tedious games, all you will have to do to win is cap one flag and turtle. The team with the most flags capped after 20 mins. wins. :/

ya the wsg change is kinda meh, but, if you think about it, you can get to 19-29-39 whatever bracket you want to be, then turn off xp, then go do those instances a million times to get the item you want, or go do quests to get the items you want.

MAJOR plus to twinks

Then again, they're segregating the BG's into XP and non-XP players. That might make the queues for twinks extremely long, if not virtually nonexistent. Also, it's still pretty easy to farms items when you're level capped. You have to die and let whoever is running you bring the boss back to your corpse and kill it. If you're close enough you can roll on loot. No XP is gained.

See, I don't think it will affect queues for twinks. In fact, it might make them a little bit shorter. More people will enjoy being able to play their twinks without worrying about fighting the scrubs.

I do however believe that it may make the queues for Non-twinks a bit longer, as I am sure that most people that attempt to pvp some while leveling will be fewer and further between.

Yeah...I think he is done. Now that the 360 has landed coupled with the two weeks in the wilderness...I don't think he will start playing again. Maybe someday...but probably not soon. And when I renewed the subscription this month I put it on a single-month renewal. :( (Mine is on a 3-month renewal.) I am going to log in and steal all his gold when I get home before he decides he should give it to his brother. :twisted:
